Drone Vision 02/13
This installation depicts the data-centric ways in which a new aesthetic of seeing is coming to be. It was made through creating an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, or drone, to photograph a partially developed section of the Pine Barrens. Patterns and specific signifiers are used to see; machines are programmed to do it, and we as humans are adapting to the same type of vision. A photograph of landscape can now be interpreted through its signifiers and data, just as much as it's references and implications.
